Fine Art vs. Design

For me, this is a complete gray area. I love all the success and follies brought on by both painting and adobe photoshop. I don't mind mixing paint for a couple of hours or kerning type for a while. I have found myself shifting my passion back and forth over this line for the past decade. It may have been a tight rope I am walking on. So now the reality may be me leaning side to side to give myself a greater focus and balance in my work. I see more and more the overlap and heavy relation of the two. How they inform and inspire each other. On one hand, I have been narrowing my focus. On the other, I am purposely reaching out to see what else can be attained.

In the end, good fine art displays great design and good design is truly fine art. The line is blurred. The area is gray. Stay tan and continue to create.
